LLULL PUJADES PONENT

It is one of the most consolidated sectors of Poblenou. The basic idea was the conservation of the existing community fabric, acting punctually in the interstitial plots, with the objective of maintaining a very important part of the building and the plot structure. This ensures the formal continuity and the persistence of the productive and social conditions of many points, which links the new images to the memory of the long history of the industrial sector of Poblenou.

The morphology of the transformed blocks is reinforced by the establishment of small interstitial spaces that enhance the connections between the horizontal streets and establish new relationships between more consolidated fabrics and the new proposed buildings. This free space is based on the existing land structure, sometimes recovering old passageways or reinforcing interesting architectural elements, such as chimneys or old industrial buildings. Likewise, a central point of free spaces and equipment is set up that provides new values of centrality around residential buildings and new buildings for productive activities.

Criteria are established for the maintenance of buildings and areas of interest, for their formal typological and spatial value, which can be incorporated into the process of transformation and the morphological solutions to the arrangement of the blocks and can be used for public facilities, productive buildings and unconventional housing.
The need to make a transformation that adapts to existing activities forced us to define a more flexible system therefore determining the basic elements of the future and the position of green areas, facilities and housing, but not an organization of the building: that will have to be specified at the time of development of each of the subsectors provided.

The plan organizes a subsector of the predetermined plan of Llull-Pujades- Ponent, which set the percentage and destination of the land transfers. The unevenness between the streets of Zamora and Pallars is resolved with an accessible green square around which the complex is structured and that covers a new waste collection plant. The conservation of existing modernist buildings is foreseen, which due to their position and architectural quality
are the basic element in configuring the volumetry of the space. New green buildings are proposed that respect the historical traces of the area. The project accepts as landscape value the urban and architectural heterogeneity into which it will integrate.
